Victoria Templeman - Maison Victoire, property in Provence

Victoria Templeman

Managing Director

Victoria, who holds a BA (Hons) in Estate Management (the degree of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) is the founder and owner of Maison Victoire. A rare achievement for a British citizen, she also holds the Carte Professionnelle for the business, which is a French real estate license. Victoria obtained French citizenship in April 2022.

Victoria arrived in L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue in 2006, thanks to her antique dealer father’s discovery of the famous market town which is renowned for its fantastic range of antique shops and markets. She soon set to work building Maison Victoire and the agency has experienced year-on-year growth ever since. The team too has expanded with the hugely successful evolution of the business, and she now has a great team behind her. This support allows Victoria to concentrate on the negotiation of sales at the luxury end of the market, as well as undertaking valuations and the strategic development of the business.

From Perthshire in Scotland, Victoria previously managed the luxury ski company, Le Chardon Mountain Lodges in Val d’Isère, and prior to that, she ran the Scottish Antique and Arts Centre in Doune, Perthshire. With a keen eye for property and interiors, her negotiating skills and a passion for Provence, Victoria and her associates provide expert representation for both buyers and sellers.

And when she’s not helping her clients to buy and sell properties, Victoria loves walking her two dogs in the beautiful Luberon countryside. She’s a big fan of Formula One and rugby and she adores skiing too, making the most of her proximity to the Alps in the winter. Her daily yoga routine is also important to Victoria who believes that achieving focus and balance is key to success!

George Curtis

Agency Manager

As the agency manager, George guarantees good levels of communication between the office management team, the estate agents, and our clients, with a calm and professional demeanour. He is in charge of new listings and is a qualified valuer. With Alexandra’s help, he ensures that every property is beautifully - and accurately - presented, and that we have a comprehensive dossier of current information for each one.

Bilingual French and English, George was born in the UK but grew up in the Luberon in the nearby village of Fontaine-de-Vaucluse. George returned to the UK to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Birmingham in 2017 before returning to the Vaucluse to assume his role within the Maison Victoire team.

With a healthy love of the outdoors, he, and his Golden Retriever Maple, take full advantage of the many cycling, hiking, and other outdoor activities that the region provides. He also takes great interest in the rich culture of art, music, food and wine in abundance here in the Vaucluse.

Catriona MacColl-Ghione

Administration

Catriona, of British parents, has had a varied career with many enriching and different experiences, giving her valuable insight and interest in ‘people’ and a capacity to get along with everyone.

She trained as a classical dancer at the Royal Ballet School in London which took her to the Ballet de Marseille, then run by the famous choreographer Roland Petit. This opportunity which was to change her life and triggered her enduring love of France and the French ‘art de vivre’.

Following a tour of Russia she developed an ankle injury which was to prove fatal for a dancing career and she turned to her second love which was that of acting. She subsequently enjoyed an extensive international career for over forty years in television, cinema, and theatre.

For many years Catriona co-directed ‘What Larks’, a successful English-speaking theatre company in Provence, and appeared in a number of the productions.

She finally settled here in the Luberon in 2000 where she was invited to join an international estate agency and has happily worked in property sales since then.

She is delighted to be part of the Maison Victoire family! The discipline that she acquired from her dance training and her capacity to get on with people has proved vital within the numerous teams with whom she has worked. The theatre is, after all, a team effort, as it certainly is at Maison Victoire.

She says she is particularly happy to be a part of our team, as we all have a shared interest in nature, animals, and the arts, and all believe in excellent client care.

Liz Wilkinson

Estate Agent

Liz grew up in a family of foodie Francophiles in Worcestershire, England, then moved to Lyon after graduating from Bristol University with a degree in French and Spanish.

In 1999, Liz’s family relocated to the US college town of Princeton. Adopting the American “can do” entrepreneurial spirit, she established a culinary school, presented a local TV cooking show, and was a private chef for “town and gown”. This honed her skills in communication, reliability, punctuality, and paying close attention to her clients’ needs. She was on the steering committee of numerous Princeton social organisations, and proudly volunteered and held a leadership role within Good Grief, a bereavement support charity.

Entranced by Provence’s natural beauty and light, Liz and her graphic designer husband moved to the Luberon in 2020. Liz’s keen eye for property and its potential is evident in the fabulous transition of part of her home into a chambres d’hôtes. Liz is thrilled to channel her experience and passion for French life as a member of the Maison Victoire sales team.

For leisure, Liz listens to podcasts and Radio 4 while walking her exuberant Border Collie/Australian Shepherd, Milo. Alongside teaching French to expats, she loves to read and write, spend time with family and friends, browse outdoor food markets, and cook.

Sabine Copinga

Estate Agent

After a 15-year career in marketing and brand activation, Sabine’s ambition to ‘make the world a better place’ brought her to slums and refugee camps as a storyteller for an international humanitarian organization. Ten years of inspiring stories about loss, hardship and hope taught Sabine that dreams should always be pursued.

The mutual dream of her daughter, husband and herself to move to the unspoiled nature of the Luberon came true in 2018. Once there, Sabine and her partner provided second home owners a carefree life in Provence with renovations, interior design, house searches and house management.

Maison Victoire benefits from Sabine’s enthusiasm for the area and genuine care for those looking to find their dream in the Luberon – or to move on after the dream. Sabine’s ability to listen, genuine human interest, positive energy, marketing experience, organizational skills and creativity make her the right fit for both sellers and buyers.

Sabine speaks French, English, German and Dutch (her mother tongue). She operates mostly in the Luberon area around and east of Apt, where roads are still less travelled and hidden gems are to be uncovered.

Martial Brethenoux

Estate Agent

Born in Tours, in the Loire Valley, Martial grew up in Provence. After specializing in nuclear security and obtaining a Master's degree in Scientific and Technical Communication, Martial spent 15 years directing corporate and marketing films for the car and luxury sectors. This allowed him to discover his love of travelling, appreciate teamwork and meet the high standards that our clients expect of him.

Settling permanently in a small village in southern Ventoux in 2002, Martial created a property management company, proving a vital service for second home owners. In tandem, in 2006, he launched his career as an estate agent, specialising in the sale and acquisition of prestigious Provencal properties. His hands-on understanding of the market allows Martial to connect with buyers looking for peace of mind when choosing a home-from-home.

Away from the office, Martial enjoys photography and cinematography. He is a keen follower of the works of Michel Audiard. He has travelled to South America, Canada, Cuba, Iran, Uzbekistan and Iceland, with many more destinations on his wish list. His honesty, punctuality, kindness, curious mind and good sense of humour make him a perfect estate agent.

Gilles Huart - Maison Victoire, property in Provence

Gilles Huart

Estate Agent

A lover of Provence since the early 90s, Gilles spent a large part of his life in the Paris region, before settling in the heart of the Luberon in 2017, where he bought a large property which he transformed into a luxury chambre d’hôte business. In the various positions he has held over the last 30 years, in an investment bank in Paris or in this hospitality business, he has dealt with demanding clientele with an international profile and high standards.

As well as his role of negotiator at Maison Victoire Immobilier, Gilles has taken on the challenge of renovating a 400-year-old building, his third house in the region, and his third renovation too. It satisfies his penchant for original features, ornate decoration, and beautiful antiques.

In his time off, he enjoys exploring the roads and trails of Provence on foot, by racing bike or mountain bike, in search of a beautiful viewpoint, a secret chapel, or... a house that might be for sale. He has proudly conquered the three routes leading to the summit of the Ventoux… several times!

The incomparable light and sublime landscapes of our region inspire him - like other prestigious artists before him - since he devotes part of his spare time to writing novels. Or perhaps his many trips to Europe, Asia and Latin America have had a profound effect on him…

Katie Buhr

Estate Agent

Originally from New York City, Katie has owned and renovated multiple homes up and down the East Coast of the US and throughout France. With a BA from the colleges of Haverford and Swarthmore, Katie continued her studies in French at the Sorbonne before co-founding one of the first relocation companies in Strasbourg. After a decade in France, Katie returned to New York where she renovated an abandoned home in Scarsdale from 1865, more than doubling its value. Katie has a genuine passion for restoring old and contemporary homes. There are very few architectural challenges she has not faced across her portfolio of properties in France and the US, some dating as far back as the 17th century.

Back in France for the past 6 years, Katie has transitioned from a successful 20+ year career as a Digital Marketing Executive, to pursue her true passion for real estate. Leveraging her expertise in marketing, renovation, and relocation, she adeptly assists both sellers and buyers in achieving their real estate goals. Eager to share her love for Provence, Katie is particularly enthusiastic about partnering with North Americans seeking to establish roots in the area.
